Samy Markbaoui

Samy Markbaoui is a partner in the International Arbitration Practice of White & Case in Paris. He has experience representing corporations and States in both contract-based and investment treaty arbitrations, with particular focus on the Middle East and North Africa. Samy has handled matters in a variety of industry sectors, including construction, real estate, energy, telecommunications and retail. He has handled arbitrations governed by international law, as well as others governed by French, Swiss, Algerian, Libyan, Egyptian, Lebanese, Syrian, Iraqi, Saudi, UAE, Qatari and Yemeni law.
Samy is a member of the Paris and Beirut bar association. He graduated from Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut, and holds three Master II degrees: one from Paris II Assas University in Private International Law and International Commerce, another from Versailles University in International Arbitration, and a third from Paris II Assas University in Comparative Arab Business Law.
Samy is listed as a “top practitioner” in arbitration by Who's Who Legal (WWL Arbitration 2025).
